Well...

I'm sure you've all seen the finale.

I think many of us can agree that most of it was pretty darn breathtaking and nerve-racking and epic.

But still, many zutarians have very STRONG and PASSIONATE feelings and opinions about it. About the last couple minutes in particular, if you know what I mean.

*coughcough*

Here are the some that I'm come up with thusfar that have taken a strong and effective stand...

Avatar: Exploring Canon

He Didn't Love Her

If you would like to add a particularily powerful essay that you have read or written to this list, comment on this journal and add the link.

Yeah, we SAW the finale. Zutara lost. Maiko and Kataang were victorious we GET IT.

But for the most part, we do NOT agree with it, we do NOT appreciate it, and we do NOT like it ONE BIT.

And we are going to speak our minds about it.

Enjoy.

Spread the word! Let's make this as big as possible! Every single Zutarian out there should play a part in this! Add it to your shoutboards, put a notice in your journal, note your friends...let's show 'em what Zutarians are made of and what Zutara is really about.
We have had to snip out some Bryke/Maiko/Kataang flaming from the contributions we recieved so far. PLEASE NO FLAMING BRYKE, NICK, OR OTHER SHIPS just focus on Zutara and why it is important to you. NO SPOILERS either. Also, keep 'em short, folks, no essays here....

Also, if you haven't checked out *MizSweet's amazing theory about that silly old Sozin's Comet book, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you go HERE: [link] and listen to Episode 8: MizSweet's theory . It should restore your Zutara faith....;)

And these will make your day, I'm sure.

ENJOY dearies =D

Now...many outside the Zutarian community are completely bewildered by the reaction of Zutarians to the Sozin's Comet Book. TONS of people are wondering...
:bulletred:why are you still so passionate about this ship?
:bulletblue: Why aren't you just giving it up?
:bulletred: Why are you letting some stupid ship dampen an entire series?
:bulletblue: Is that what this was really about, all along? Shipping?
:bulletred: You stupid Zutarians are in DENIAL and are an EMBARASSMENT to the Avatard community.
:bulletblue: Are you really going to back away from A:TLA just because a couple didn't get together?
:bulletred: Avatar is not about LOVE. It's a STORY about kids working together to overcome the powers of evil and change the world.
:bulletblue: Not everything has to go the way YOU want it to, Zutarians. So what if Bryke were Kataangers all along? They have the right of ship. And they don't deserve your hate.
:bulletred: Avatar will still be good, it doesn't matter what ship sails in the end. They're just kids for goodness sakes!

and many, MANY more complaints of this nature.

Obviously, those outside the Zutara community have no IDEA why we really ship our ship.

And believe me, there's way more to it than they are compatible .

And so many of you have brought up the fact that us Zutarians must UNITE and make something truly beauitful and special in which the memory may live on....

And I know that your feelings, your deep feelings and love for this ship are bubbling inside you....

So let it out! Send a note to either :iconzutarian-empire: or :iconamy-anne: saying exactly WHY you ship Zutara. Go as deep as you can. As long as we have everyone's permission, we will gather it all together and submit it as a deviation. You can remain anonymous or your name can be added with your comment.
Please don't make it too long....no essays please (though you absolutely SHOULD submit your Zutara essays, but not through this project ^^).

Some people have suggested that we make up our own animated finale...that we draw and color and write like crazy and put together a better finale, but....

...that takes an insane amount of work, and we don't have the voice actors, and it's hard to get hundreds to come together to create something like that. And though there are many brillant Zutarians out there, I don't we could ever create something of as high of quality as the actual episodes of A:TLA. :( (Nor do I think we could get permission to do something like that...)

But THIS can be our big Zutara project. Our big way of answering all of the questions and comments above. Our way of showing the Avatard world that expects us to drown in our own tears that Zutarians ARE passionate about our ship and we will love our ship forever and ever, no matter if it canons or not. That NOTHING can stop us from looking at A:TLA in depth, and that we are the most supportive and strong and passionate shipping comminuty EVER TO WALK THE FACE OF THE EARTH

We need to have each other's back. And nothing is more inspirational and motivational than the words of fellow Zutarians.

Yes, YES, if this interview and book ARE true, than WE CAN RISE ABOVE IT.

But we can't be silent and let them run over us like that.

WE saw the hidden possibilities, WE opened the locked doors, WE dug deep, WE opened our eyes and our eyes and our minds and our hearts.

And it's high time we united in all of our Zutara glory and power.

You don't have to be a member of the *Zutarian-Empire to participate in this, however, you DO have to be a Zutarian. Comments like, "Zutara would have been kind of cool, but Kataang was destined to to succeed w00t!" will be disregarded from this project.
Try to soften the language, please ^^;
No bashing other ships--just focus on Zutara and WHY it's important to you.
No bashing Bryke or Nick.

Let's come together more powerfully than EVER now Zutarians...

this is the kind of thing that you can print out and keep forever as a memory...

Of the most epic romance ever.

Any ideas for a name for this project? This culmination of the insight of Zutarians everywhere?

Spread the word--we want to get as much imput as possible. If we get enough by this weekend, we will submit the first deviation of Zutara comments, and hopefully this will inspire others to add their own insight as well, and we can always edit it with the other comments later.

Let's see just how BIG we can make this!

WHY are YOU Zutarian? WHY do you ship Zutara? If you let it come from your heart, it will touch many other hearts as well.

one example of a response: "I had always been doubtful about this romance stuff. I thought that it was so shallow, and all about physical attraction, and it makes people do stupid things and hurt themselves without even realizing it. I believed that love was just a pathetic game, and I wanted nothing to do with it. Until Zutara. For two young people to go from the bitter extremes--from pure enemies to pure lovers, it would be epic. And not only that, but they are so very much alike--the two most passionate people in the show. And the fact that it's the prince of fire and and the princess of water, yin and yang, it just makes it all the more perfect and beautiful. I want a future relationship like Zutara--it's the ultimate romance. It's made me realize that there can be so much more to love, it doesn't have to be shallow and cheesy...they are the idol lovers..."

This insight, hopefully along with many others, would be culminated into what has the potential of being the most powerful piece of work the Avatard community has ever seen.

Now. What do YOU think?

Please entitle notes: Why I ship Zutara or something of that nature.

Thanks guys!

*SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS*

:iconamy-anne: here again.

I'm making something clear, right here and now, to the disrespectful people who have been bashing us Zutarians like mad, saying "GET OVER IT" "BRYKE DOESN'T DESERVE THIS", or "YOU IDIOTS ARE LETTING SHIPPING RUIN A WHOLE GOOD STORY".
FYI--hard-core Zutarians are upset and have every reason to be upset because Zutara has led us to see the whole of Avatar in new light. We assumed that the story ran deeper than the obvious, but if Kataang happens, than apparently this show wasn't meant to be as deep and thoughtful and emotional and we expected--it was all just for the cute. If you can't understand this, whatever, leave us alone. I am immediately hiding any disrespectful comments, so don't waste your time.
Zutara was more than just some cute ship for us, thank you very much. It touched every aspect of Avatar. And it hurts when it all comes crashing down.
Zutarians are really losing repect for Kataangers as all they can do in this time is bash us. Can't you see we're upset?! LEAVE US ALONE! And if you take the time out of your life to pester mourning Zutarians any more, than you are a very cruel person with no empathy at all.

Alright, this has got to be the hardest thing that Zutarians have ever had to go through, and we've been through quite a bit of hardships.

Why Zutarians constantly have to go through such trauma...it's unbelievable.

After all of the A:TLA that I've been through...I'm sorry...but I'm not putting all of my faith and trust into a stupid book which makes no sense whatsoever.

Apparently the finale was supposed to be released in May, and then the book shortly after, but the episodes got postponed and Bryke was too cheap to save the books for release until after the finale aired. So they released them early.

If they are not willing to spend some extra money in order to keep the whole friggen show from being completely screwed, well, I just don't know what to say about them.

So apparently that interview was intended to be released AFTER the finale aired.

Apparently then, after Katara randomly walks up to Aang and kisses him in the actual episode on television.

But nick and Bryke messed up AGAIN.

Apparently it's been confirmed by some Zutarian who actually has the book in their hands that the interview and Kataang kiss IS published in the book, so it's not some stupid internet scam.

And Zutarians everywhere are weeping and wailing.

Why? Because there was so much potential for an amazing ending and a stellar romance.

Bryke may be epic mystery/suspense/action writers, but when it comes down to writing a good romance, they are fools.

And I've lost so much respect for them.

Now, there is a flip side to this. What about the Kataangers? Shouldn't they be ecstatic about their ship's glory? Like, if that interview had of said, Sorry Kataangers, but Zutara was our intention from the very beginning. And seriously, kids! Kataang would never have worked out anyway. Aang is too young and we specially developed Katara's character to be a motherly figure to Aang , wouldn't Zutarians be going CRAZY?! Well of course!

But this is the opinion of the Kataangers that I've talked to so far...

" Meh. Whatever. I knew it was going to happen anyway. It was just too obvious. Nothing new here, no surprise."

And why is it that they aren't exactly jumping for joy?

Because that's just it--Kataang and Maiko are old, boring, and dull.

Period.

Zutara would have been risky for Bryke, and a lot of effort and time would of had to be put into it to make it PERFECT, but at the end of the day...

they were lazy. And dull. And tired. And they screwed things over to make it simple and cute.

And not only that, but Bryke cut us really deep in that interview, saying that Zutara had no chance and Kataang was just too cute to resist, and Zutara is DARK.

Dark? DARK?!!

Did...did you just call Zutara DARK??

What the heck is Maiko then??! Light and fluffy and sweet?

There is just so much potential in this show..and they flushed the toilet with their cuteness

Zutara had SO MUCH CHANCE FYI, Bryke. Geez. I didn't realize how absolutely SHALLOW those two were.

However, though this interview has discouraged me quite a bit, I AM NOT BELIEVING ANYTHING UNTIL I GO DOWNSTAIRS, GET COMFY ON MY COUCH, TURN ON MY TELEVISION, AND SEE ZUKO'S PERFECT MATE KISSING AN IMMATURE CHILD. (which I still believe is completely impossible...)

People can say what they want, write what they want, draw what they want, interview who they want, publish what they want, but at the end of the day...

it all comes down to six more episodes which will be airing in a couple of months.

I can tell you right here and now that tomorrow morning, the president of the United States is pulling the troops from Afghanistan.

And do you believe me?

The truth of the matter is... in this unpredictable world, you can't believe it until you wake up tomorrow morning and know for sure if all the soliders are home again with their grateful families .

Zutara is hurt, but not destroyed from A:TLA until the Sozin sings ;)
And even after that, the fandom will live on forever and Bryke will regret their idiotic decision after they realize that they have lost so many fans who were simply not satisfied with some dumb, cute ending, if it's even all true.

And if someone is messing with us...they might just be assasinated by enraged Zutarians everywhere. Jk. But that would be low.

Fellow Zutarians, we NEED each other right now, more than ever. We HAVE to have each other's backs.

Remember forever...

"In the darkest times, HOPE is something you give YOURSELF. That is the meaning of INNER STRENGTH."

Iroh believes it. And so should you.

Never forget it my dear Zutarians. I love you all so much, no matter what happens in the end--and I will have your back and be your shoulder to cry on, if need be. You guys are the best Avatards ever, the deepest thinkers and the most brillant artists I have ever met in my life. I hope that our friendships will continue.

Only Zutarians have taken the time and effort to look at A:TLA with true depth and logic, only Zutarians have expanded and opened their minds up enough to see past the obvious and shallow and dig out the HOPE, the PEACE and the possibilities for a better tomorrow .

Bryke is apparently not deep or brillant enough to keep up with us, and that says more about them than it does us.

It is fiction. A story.

Possibly with a terrible ending, and that's a shame.

DO NOT FEAR THE SOZIN'S COMET BOOK no spoiler

  • Reading: Clearing the emotional muck Maiko left behind
  • Watching: The Boiling Rock

I Love dA !

Okay, people.

Let's all just take a nice, big, deep breath and CALM DOWN.

I'm going to say this VERY CLEARLY: The Sozin's Comet book DOES NOT REVEAL what is actually going to happen in the finale. It does NOT.

It is NOTHING more than a fanfic.

In case you didn't know (and have been living under a rock), this Sozin's Comet book is full of comics that are apparently about the finale of Avatar the Last Airbender.

They are NOT. I have NO CLUE who started that rumor.

I have the Avatar comic books that were released a while ago, covering the first couple of episodes, and they are a TRUE version of what happened at the beginning of the series.

And GUESS who they are written by?

I quote: "Written by Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko. Additional writing by Aaron Ehaz, Peter Goldfinger, and Josh Stolberg."

In other words, ACTUAL PEOPLE WHO GET PAID BY NICK TO PUT THE STORY LINE OF AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER TOGETHER.

And who, may I ask, is this Sozin's Comet book written by?

David Bergantino and Patrick Spaziante, whoever the heck they are.

Actually, I know exactly who they are.

They are a fanfic writer and an illustrator who have an idea about what might happen in the much-anticipated finale of Avatar, who wanted to fill up their piggy banks by leading Avatards everywhere to believe that this is what actually will happen in the finale.

IT'S NOT. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING A STUPID FANFIC.

Everyone who has read it is disapointed and says that the storyline is pathetic and not very logical.

We all know very well that Bryke is VERY weary of letting out spoilers. For goodness sakes, at the NYCC, when the simple question "Will Ursa turn up again?" was asked, they blushed and mumbled, "You will have to wait and see."

And you REALLY BELIEVE that these guys, who were so hesitant to tell us whether one little character would make another appearance, would just BLOW THE WHOLE FRIGGIN FINALE by publishing it in some COMIC BOOK??!

There is absolutely NO WAY.

And if these David Bergantino and Patrick Spaziante people ACTUALLY found out what happened in the finale (which is basically impossible), and published it into a book, they would be sued SO FAST they would hardly have time to breathe.

IF indeed Nick wanted to release a comic book concerning the finale of Avatar, than THIS is exactly what would have been written on the cover:

"Written by Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko. Additional writing by Aaron Ehaz"

Why? Because THEY ARE THE OFFICIAL WRITERS of Avatar the Last Airbender, not some random men whom we've never even heard of before.

Yes, yes, Nick has done some pretty stupid things in the past.

But there is just no way they would spoil the most anticipated four episodes of the whole series WITH A COMIC BOOK.

NO ONE is that dumb.

So if you read that book and you don't see your ship in it....

Big deal. I guess David Bergantino and Patrick Spaziante don't support that ship.

ANYONE could do what they've done. ANYONE could send their fanfic and pretty pictures off to a publisher.

This stupid Sozin's Comet book is NOT ANYTHING like what will happen in the final four episodes of Avatar.

It's merely what David Bergantino and Patrick Spaziante THINK will happen or WANT to see happen.

And if you still aren't convinced, it says in the book description: "In this adaptation of the four-part Season Three finale..." ADAPTATION. Do you KNOW what this word means?

According to dictionary.com: "a form or structure modified to fit a changed environment

A MODIFYED FORM.

David Bergantino is considered to be "THE ADAPTER" of the Sozin's Comet book.

Bryke and Aaron Ehasz are considered to be the WRITERS of the OFFICIAL comic books covering the first couple episodes of Avatar.

David Bergantino is NOT an official writer, NOT an official author, NO, he is AN ADAPTER--the one who came up with the storyline of this MODIFYED VERSION of the Avatar: The Last Airbender finale.

Seriously. I think we are all going a wee bit paranoid.

If ANYONE you know is depressed or upset about this issue (as so many people are), give them a link to this journal.

We need to stop grieving and OPEN OUR EYES TO THE LOGICAL TRUTH.

With much ,
*Amy-Anne
