I Love dA !

Well...

I'm sure you've all seen the finale.

I think many of us can agree that most of it was pretty darn breathtaking and nerve-racking and epic.

But still, many zutarians have very STRONG and PASSIONATE feelings and opinions about it. About the last couple minutes in particular, if you know what I mean.

*coughcough*

Here are the some that I'm come up with thusfar that have taken a strong and effective stand...

Avatar: Exploring Canon

He Didn't Love Her

If you would like to add a particularily powerful essay that you have read or written to this list, comment on this journal and add the link.

Yeah, we SAW the finale. Zutara lost. Maiko and Kataang were victorious we GET IT.

But for the most part, we do NOT agree with it, we do NOT appreciate it, and we do NOT like it ONE BIT.

And we are going to speak our minds about it.

Enjoy.

Hey, I wrote a little parody on the finale. It's called Sozin's Comet Lessons. Please check it out!

True fact:

Not even Dai Li brainwashing can change my opinion on the Avatar finale. It's still crap.

While I do agree that the ending (note: not the finale) could have been better in some parts, I would not get so bitter about the "victory" of Kataang. I personally think we can let the Kataangers and the Maiko faction have their "victory" while we can live on and say we still support a pairing that is both strong and beautiful. No need to bash anyone about it, least of all Mike and Bryan.

If anyone rubs it under our nose, of course I can understand...slight...err..."agressive" replies.... ;D

I guess they were too different as to match together... sometimes I don't even know from where this ship came up... But I certainly love it... even if it doesn't happens.

Honestly I really do think that Zuko loved Katara...but he quite possibly knew what Aang felt for her...and he didn't want to ruin his new frienship. So he never pursued anything. There were many moments within the latter part of the 3rd season that hinted Zutara could have just as easily happened as Kataang. Starting with when he first joined the gang, despite knowing Katara wold be mad at her he still smiled when he saw her.

And durring the episode "The Southern Raiders"...he said to Sokka "I really care about what Katara thinks of me." And when he got sarcastic with Aang when he can Katara were leaving, that's the only time really where Zuko was sarcastic with Aang. He may have wanted the alone time with Katara and was irritated Aang was getting in the way. And when Katara hugged him at the end saying she forgave him. And I mean COME ON...he took a lightning bolt for Katara! Even when he was injured he still tried so hard to save her. He saved her life...and then she saved his back. The look on their faces when he lived an when he said "thank you Katara!" Notice how close they were standing together while looking down at Azula, her hand on his back.

Did anyone notice their reactions durring the Ember Island Players ep? When actor!Katara was confessing her feelings for actor!Zuko? And when they met up with Joon and she says "So you patched things up with your girlfriend?" They were both embarassed staying "S/he's not my boy/girlfriend!" If they didn't have feelings for each other, would they have made so big of a deal over it? They could have just laughed it off and shook their heads saying "No...we're just friends."

Honestly...there wre more moments the last half of Book three pointing to Zutara then there were Kataang moments in the whole series (all i can remember is the almost kiss in Cave of Two Lovers)

One way to look at it is that...they all knew what Aang felt. They all knew Aang loved Katara...and after everything he had gone through, risking his life to save the world...it wouldn't be fair to Aang to take that away from him. The way I see it, behind the scenes while in Omashu, Katara and Zuko had a moment where they expressed their feelings for each other, but ultimately decided they had to part ways. That they should take the paths people expected of them, namely Zuko goes back to Mai...and Katara end up with Aang.

The parts I didn't like about the ending tho were the parts that were rather important to me. Such as...what happened to Azula? And did Zuko go and look for this mother?

Am I sad that the series ended in Kataang? Yes...I am. I felt there was more depth and substance and emotion to Zutara...had it gotten the chance to be explored fully it could have been beautiful. I truly believe that Katara and Zuko are eachothers other half, they balance each other out.

Am I angry that Kataang happened? Do i hate the creators? No. I'm not...and no I don't hate them.

Do I accept that Kataang is the canon pairing? Yes I do.

In the end...it's just a TV show. There are more important things in life to worry about than a ship for a cartoon. I never watched it for the romance anyway lol. I honestly didn't care about any pairings till the season 2 finale.

I like Zutara, too, but come on people!! STOP MAKING OTHER ZUTARIANS LOOK BAD WITH YOUR INCESSANT WHINING.
So Zutara, didn't happen. Big deal. Are you going to get that bent out of shape about it? I didn't like Maiko or Kataang but I didn't throw a fit when it didn't happen.

I think I understand why we Zutarains are Zutarains and why Zutara didn't happen. I have noticed that most Zutarains are of the older demographic. We grew up with Shows, movies, ect where the bad guy could turn good and get the girl, but in this newer age it's more of a childish 'Good guy gets girl. Bad guy gets whooped.' We must keep in mind that Avaar is not only a newish show, but it is more for kids. (The maion character being a little kid)
:iconlovesdarkness:
I agree with you completely! You have no idea how many Kataangers I've had insult me as well and I'm just like "Dood...it's a TV show. WHO CARES!"
