*SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS*

:iconamy-anne: here again.

I'm making something clear, right here and now, to the disrespectful people who have been bashing us Zutarians like mad, saying "GET OVER IT" "BRYKE DOESN'T DESERVE THIS", or "YOU IDIOTS ARE LETTING SHIPPING RUIN A WHOLE GOOD STORY".
FYI--hard-core Zutarians are upset and have every reason to be upset because Zutara has led us to see the whole of Avatar in new light. We assumed that the story ran deeper than the obvious, but if Kataang happens, than apparently this show wasn't meant to be as deep and thoughtful and emotional and we expected--it was all just for the cute. If you can't understand this, whatever, leave us alone. I am immediately hiding any disrespectful comments, so don't waste your time.
Zutara was more than just some cute ship for us, thank you very much. It touched every aspect of Avatar. And it hurts when it all comes crashing down.
Zutarians are really losing repect for Kataangers as all they can do in this time is bash us. Can't you see we're upset?! LEAVE US ALONE! And if you take the time out of your life to pester mourning Zutarians any more, than you are a very cruel person with no empathy at all.

Alright, this has got to be the hardest thing that Zutarians have ever had to go through, and we've been through quite a bit of hardships.

Why Zutarians constantly have to go through such trauma...it's unbelievable.

After all of the A:TLA that I've been through...I'm sorry...but I'm not putting all of my faith and trust into a stupid book which makes no sense whatsoever.

Apparently the finale was supposed to be released in May, and then the book shortly after, but the episodes got postponed and Bryke was too cheap to save the books for release until after the finale aired. So they released them early.

If they are not willing to spend some extra money in order to keep the whole friggen show from being completely screwed, well, I just don't know what to say about them.

So apparently that interview was intended to be released AFTER the finale aired.

Apparently then, after Katara randomly walks up to Aang and kisses him in the actual episode on television.

But nick and Bryke messed up AGAIN.

Apparently it's been confirmed by some Zutarian who actually has the book in their hands that the interview and Kataang kiss IS published in the book, so it's not some stupid internet scam.

And Zutarians everywhere are weeping and wailing.

Why? Because there was so much potential for an amazing ending and a stellar romance.

Bryke may be epic mystery/suspense/action writers, but when it comes down to writing a good romance, they are fools.

And I've lost so much respect for them.

Now, there is a flip side to this. What about the Kataangers? Shouldn't they be ecstatic about their ship's glory? Like, if that interview had of said, Sorry Kataangers, but Zutara was our intention from the very beginning. And seriously, kids! Kataang would never have worked out anyway. Aang is too young and we specially developed Katara's character to be a motherly figure to Aang , wouldn't Zutarians be going CRAZY?! Well of course!

But this is the opinion of the Kataangers that I've talked to so far...

" Meh. Whatever. I knew it was going to happen anyway. It was just too obvious. Nothing new here, no surprise."

And why is it that they aren't exactly jumping for joy?

Because that's just it--Kataang and Maiko are old, boring, and dull.

Period.

Zutara would have been risky for Bryke, and a lot of effort and time would of had to be put into it to make it PERFECT, but at the end of the day...

they were lazy. And dull. And tired. And they screwed things over to make it simple and cute.

And not only that, but Bryke cut us really deep in that interview, saying that Zutara had no chance and Kataang was just too cute to resist, and Zutara is DARK.

Dark? DARK?!!

Did...did you just call Zutara DARK??

What the heck is Maiko then??! Light and fluffy and sweet?

There is just so much potential in this show..and they flushed the toilet with their cuteness

Zutara had SO MUCH CHANCE FYI, Bryke. Geez. I didn't realize how absolutely SHALLOW those two were.

However, though this interview has discouraged me quite a bit, I AM NOT BELIEVING ANYTHING UNTIL I GO DOWNSTAIRS, GET COMFY ON MY COUCH, TURN ON MY TELEVISION, AND SEE ZUKO'S PERFECT MATE KISSING AN IMMATURE CHILD. (which I still believe is completely impossible...)

People can say what they want, write what they want, draw what they want, interview who they want, publish what they want, but at the end of the day...

it all comes down to six more episodes which will be airing in a couple of months.

I can tell you right here and now that tomorrow morning, the president of the United States is pulling the troops from Afghanistan.

And do you believe me?

The truth of the matter is... in this unpredictable world, you can't believe it until you wake up tomorrow morning and know for sure if all the soliders are home again with their grateful families .

Zutara is hurt, but not destroyed from A:TLA until the Sozin sings ;)
And even after that, the fandom will live on forever and Bryke will regret their idiotic decision after they realize that they have lost so many fans who were simply not satisfied with some dumb, cute ending, if it's even all true.

And if someone is messing with us...they might just be assasinated by enraged Zutarians everywhere. Jk. But that would be low.

Fellow Zutarians, we NEED each other right now, more than ever. We HAVE to have each other's backs.

Remember forever...

"In the darkest times, HOPE is something you give YOURSELF. That is the meaning of INNER STRENGTH."

Iroh believes it. And so should you.

Never forget it my dear Zutarians. I love you all so much, no matter what happens in the end--and I will have your back and be your shoulder to cry on, if need be. You guys are the best Avatards ever, the deepest thinkers and the most brillant artists I have ever met in my life. I hope that our friendships will continue.

Only Zutarians have taken the time and effort to look at A:TLA with true depth and logic, only Zutarians have expanded and opened their minds up enough to see past the obvious and shallow and dig out the HOPE, the PEACE and the possibilities for a better tomorrow .

Bryke is apparently not deep or brillant enough to keep up with us, and that says more about them than it does us.

It is fiction. A story.

Possibly with a terrible ending, and that's a shame.

I personally just think you are taking it way out of porportion.
You should respect other's opinions.
And if they want to bash you?
Fine.
Let them worry about it, don't waste your time arguing with bashers. They will never admit they're wrong.
We're not all going to agree on everything.

i may not really been in to the avatar series much but i do now that Zuko has been of in his own spiritual quest in the series. he never really had any bonding with Katara to beging with.not olny that Zuko betrayed Aang and his friends twice. the series sofar ended with a Katar death threat to Zuko if he ever betrades Aang agian. the relationship of Katara and Aang was a bit more developed then her relantionship with Zuko. i've olny read parts of the ending and seen clips of the eps to come. all in all Katara would only except Zuko as a friend or an Ally of some sort because she sofar doesn't trust him. also Zuko has his own girlfriend. in the end of Boiling rock there still a relationship between Zuko and Mai.
also bashing the creater is a bit harsh. you getting feed up over a relationship that didn't happened. so wut. do what other fan girls do. ALTERNATE THE STORY LINE FOR YOUR OWN PLESURE AND FAP TO IT CONSTENTLY PLZ. don't hate the person who made it. i mean the story was great, through all of what Aang went i would say he would have deserved it.

Is the idea of a friendly, platonic, non-sexual, non-romantic relationship between Zuko and Katara alien to you guys or something? Friendship and platonic bonds can often be more fulfilling and "deeper" than the romance you guys are demanding.
And then there's comments like this:

"Katara could one day realize the relationship she missed out on, she could realize that the hole in her heart that has been there since Zuko left is unable to be filled by a mere boy. She needs a man, plain and simple."

How do we, as fans, know what is best for Katara? How do we, as fans, know exactly what Katara needs? Our opinions are not facts, and we are not writing consultants either.

None of you understand the story better than Mike and Bryan. Just because they didn't take the Zutara route, it doesn't mean the story isn't deep. Have you not been paying attention? Depth of a series is not measured by romance. If it was, then wouldn't soap operas like Days of Our Lives or teen drama shit like One Tree Hill and Laguna Beach be "deep?"

A friendship can be deep. I'll say that about Aang and Katara's relationship, and I'll definitely want to see that with Katara and Zuko, and Zuko and Toph. THAT is what the series is working towards. Friendly relations and peace amongst members of all 4 nations, not just putting Katara and Zuko on a pillar.

So they hugged in the trailer. They're gonna go do some epic ninja stuff. It's cool to like that. But you guys, without even noticing the context, turned it into more "PROOF PEOPLE" warcries. Can't you be patient? The episodes and the interactions will be far more epic in animation, even if Zutara is not canon, they'll still have a fuckawesome friendship.

So seriously... Calm the fuck down with all the Bryan/Mike bashing. If you don't like their show, after spending, what, 3 years watching it... Well, congratulations, you wasted your life.

Er...I don't really agree. I don't mean to bash because although everyone likes certain pairings they all deserve equal respect. I don't feel you should bash the creators of the show for making it how they wanted it to be.

I don't think a ship should make a show "deeper" really. That comes down to all the characters and the plot. Also calling ships boring because the fans don't spaz over a TV show is unfair. They are just happy with how it happened and most don't feel the need to be immature about it.

Also, I thought the Aang bashing was unneeded. He is younger then Katara but he hasn't proven his maturity in later episodes. Also, Katara and Zuko compared to Mai and Zuko is a different type of dark. One is angsty and the other is more of a "we are both emo kids but we make each other happy."

I don't mind your pairings, but I don't think you should be bashing the characters or the guys who made the show. Without them the idea of the ship wouldn't exist after all.

Mmmm... Stereotypical storylines are my favorite, ranking just below like President Bush and rude people.

I think its be best if Zuko ran off to be in Jin, Katara met a nice Water Nation boy to run away and be less than awesome, and Aang stayed celibate like a good little monk should.

:)

Why don't we just sit back and calm down a little bit? What ever happened to watching the show for what it was: a great show? Watching a show just for the ships (whether it be Katara/Aang, Zuko/Katara, Sokka/Cactus Juice) is a very bad reason to watch it.

Truthfully, I have not read the book. Why? Because I don't want to be spoiled. Granted, I've heard people talking about the book, and that's all it is. A book. An adaptation.

When July comes, why don't we all sit down on the big comfy couch of Avatar and watch it together? Afterwards, we can make our own freaking conclusions.

I'm personally watching for the action and the great storytelling. I want to see Sokka kick butt with his sword and blurt out more haikus. I want Toph to pwn everyone. I want Aang to save the world.

Do I care if Aang and Katara get together in the end? Not really (although it wouldn't surprise me).

Will I care if Zuko and Katara get together in the end? Not really (although I don't see it happening, for reasons that I don't want to say, for the off-chance of enducing a mass riot).

Unless someone got access to it early, no one's actually seen the finale. So could we all just WAIT and see what happens, please?

how is kataang lamer than zutara? i never really understood either way, because i didn't really follow the ships much. but i kinda draw the line at calling aang a lame young kid. it's like you're punting out what bryan and mike both wanted just because you guys didn't get what you wanted. i think that's kinda sad; considering how deep avatar is in terms of universality - ozai not dying is circular and in keeping with the show's overall theme of redemption, and in a way, the elements they represent goes with overall harmony. i dunno. i guess i think putting too much energy in just one ship, and keeping your mind closed to the other possibilities kinda comes off as . . silly?
